David Hunn
A first-time Session member serving as the Elder liaison to the Administration Committee, David has attended Trinity with his wife Jocelyn since 1987 and he joined  Trinity in 1993. Their two teenage daughters, Allison and Claire, have been part of many Trinity youth, choir and confirmation activities, not to mention attending Preschool here. Living in the neighborhood, he and his family enjoy taking long daily walks with their dog, Annie. Professionally, David leads the Northern Virginia Workforce Investment Board and its non-profit arm, the SkillSource Group, Inc., based in Tysons Corner.

Jon Terry
Jon Terry and his wife Kristen have been Trinity members for just over ten years.  This is his first time serving on the session where he is the elder designate to the Pastoral Care Committee in charge of caring for the needs of the congregation.  Jon and Kristen have two sons in elementary school: Gabriel and Graham.  Jon is currently enrolled in the Disciple I class at Trinity and he and his family volunteer at the Arlington Food Assistance Center.  Professionally, Jon is a government relations consultant for a variety of nonprofit organizations. In his free time, Jon enjoys a good nap, jogging, throwing footballs in the backyard with his boys and rooting for the Washington Redskins or any team from his home state of Michigan (Red Wings, Tigers, Pistons,  Michigan State Spartans, etc.).

Cathy Benn
Cathy Benn and her husband Randy joined Trinity in 1988 and were proud to send their kids to Trinity preschool which Randy's grandmother helped to start in the 50s.  Jason, Daniel and Melissa are now teenagers and very involved in the youth and music programs and in generally wearing out staff.  Cathy is an RN by training, but currently serves as taxi driver, chaperone, homework consultant, and PTA mom.  At Trinity she is the elder liaison to the Worship and Music Committee and has been acting Clerk of Session.  She also volunteers in the office on Tuesdays, drives for FISH and Meals on Wheels, and is taking Bible Disciple IV.  In her free time Cathy loves spending time with her family, going to book club, watching movies and going out to lunch.  She is passionate about the people and many important ministries of Trinity.

Jim Dykstra
Jim Dykstra and his wife Susan have been Trinity members for two decades, and this is his third tour on Trinity’s session. Jim has also served as chair of the Church in the World, Adult Education and Congregational Life committees. Jim participated in Trinity’s mission trip to Puerto Rico a few years ago and enjoys helping annually with Christmas in April and running in the CROP Walk to benefit AFAC. He is elder designate to the Outreach Committee and helps with the Inquirers Class for those considering joining Trinity. Jim and Susan have two college age sons, Case and Greg, both of whom were baptized at Trinity. Jim spent 25 years on Capitol Hill and is now with a government relations firm downtown. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, running and sports of all kinds and is a big Green Bay Packer fan.

Bill Pommerening
Bill Pommerening has been a member of Trinity for over 15 years and is serving his second term on the Session. Bill is the elder liaison for the Education and Nurture committee overseeing Christian Education. Bill, his wife Kay, and children Will, Virginia and Darcy are active in many groups at Trinity and particularly enjoy the youth mission trips and activities.

George Meek
George Meek, elected to Trinity’s session in March 2006, serves as clerk of session, liaison to the Outreach Ministry, and church librarian. He has sung in the Chancel Choir, gone on the mission trip to Puerto Rico, and for many years taught vacation bible school with his wife, Jean. A retired radio news editor for the Voice of America (U.S. government radio station), George enjoys playing with his 14 grandchildren, and hiking on the Florida Trail in the winters. He has hiked the entire Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine. He has published two books: Time for Everything: A Six-Year Adventure on the Appalachian Trail, and Manna Calendar: An uplifting poem and scripture verse for every day of any year.

Susanne Thevenet
Susanne Thevenet was married at Trinity and has been a member for 17 years. She is serving her first term on the Session and is the designated elder to the Facilities Management (formerly Buildings and Grounds) Committee. Susanne and her husband George Lawrence are the parents of two teenagers, Russ and John, who are students at Yorktown High School. By training, Susanne is a law librarian. Her activities at Trinity have included Hannah's Circle for 16 years (a mothers' group that started when our first children were infants and now we're about to send them off to college), Sunday school and Vacation Bible School teacher, membership on the Church in the World Committee, Meals on Wheels and shoveling the church steps after each snowfall. She is an assistant scoutmaster for her sons' Boy Scout troop and twice has gone to summer camp with them. Susanne volunteers at the Yorktown H.S. Library weekly. What she values most about Trinity is the commitment to Christian education, the varied music programs for youth and adults, the challenging adult Christian education offerings and the mission trips. Trinity's most valuable contribution to her family's life has been the many opportunities to show her sons that not everyone has been so blessed as to have a roof over their head every night, food on the table at every meal and clean clothing to wear every day, so the boys know it is their responsibility to help provide these things to those who have so much less than they have.

Sue Bodner
Sue began attending Trinity after receiving a postcard announcing the first contemporary worship service.  She came to that first service and decided to stay.  Daughter, Gail, and son, Ben began attending the following September.  Ben entered the confirmation class and was the first in the family to become a member.  Sue followed a year later.  After spending 25 years as a member of the Church of the Savior in Washington, DC, Sue brings a faith well nurtured in small group relationships, mission, social justice, and children’s ministry.  Sue enjoys sewing of all sorts and works as a sewing teacher with children and adults. She also enjoys swimming, watching Ben play ice hockey, hanging with Gail and her friends, the Baltimore Orioles, movies, reading, and lots of socialization!  Currently, Sue serves as liaison to the Pastoral Care committee, along with Jim Dykstra.
