Christian Education & Nurture
Chair: Jennifer McGrail
|
| |
Trinity Presbyterian Church provides Christian education to its faith community and to the community at large. Through our Christian Education and Nurture Committee, we seek to join our members on their faith journey. Whether through the youth fellowships, children and adult education opportunities, or spiritual gifts assessments, Trinity seeks to assist the spiritual growth of children, youth, and adults alike. Here is a sample of the activities supported by the Christian Education and Nurture Committee.

Adult’s
Sunday Mornings Christian Education (10:10 a.m.)

Adult Christian
Education is of vital importance to Trinity. Related to themes of Biblical
Studies and Theology, Faith and Life, and Contemporary Literature, classes may
be video based, Bible Studies, or discussion driven. Recent themes include The
Reformation, Scoundrels of the Bible, Creeds and Confessions, Christian
Parenting and Drama Ministry. We pray each adult member and visitor will take
this wonderful opportunity to grow, develop, and transform more into the Christ-
followers God intends.

Are you interested in becoming a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church or would you like to know more about what being a Presbyterian means? Join us for the next Inquirer’s class to learn more about the history of our church, information about the Presbyterian denomination, our vision for he future and opportunities to serve in ministry at Trinity. During the Inquirer’s class each participant will be introduced to the Spiritual Gifts inventory and be invited to explore their own gifts (see below). This is a time of inquiry for those who are considering membership. Those who wish to join the church will have an opportunity to do so, but it is not a requirement to attend this class. Contact the church office or Rev. Ed Dawkins for more information.

Alpha
|
|
| |
For the new
believer and most mature veteran, Alpha is a series of talks and discussions; a
safe place to thrash out the meaning of life; an opportunity to discuss what
Christianity really is all about. There is a light supper which begins each
session to give participants a chance to get to know each other. 15 weeks flies
by in an environment in which there is no question too simple or too
challenging!

Bible Disciple |

The DISCIPLE Bible Study program is designed to develop biblically nourished persons committed to following as disciples of Jesus Christ. Disciple I is a 34 week study that moves through the biblical story from Genesis to Revelation. Subsequent Disciple courses engage small groups in the study of scripture to deepen knowledge and encourage leadership and faith development. New classes are formed each fall.
|
| |
Introduction to Old and New Testaments: These shorter introductions to the DISCIPLE program give participants a foundation in understanding the bible. New classes are formed in the fall and winter.

Spiritual Gifts
|
| |
Trinity has committed to helping assess each and every member of the church in
their spiritual giftedness. This is one of our core beliefs that men and women,
boys and girls are gifted by God and need to learn how God has uniquely given
them at least one primary gift and several secondary gifts. Our trained
spiritual gift counselors meet with each member for about an hour to assess
giftedness, personal style, and passion. Members are affirmed in their
professions, their home and school and neighborhood lives, and given
opportunities within the church to serve according to the combination of their
gifts, personal style, and passion. |
|
|
| |
God
has entrusted each of us with gifts – Spiritual Gifts. The Scriptures identify
at least 23 God-given gifts. Through Spiritual Gift Assessment and Consultation,
we can all discover, understand, and align our spiritual gifts, personal style,
and passions to better serve God and enjoy more fulfillments in our workplace,
homes, community and church. |
| |
| |
Spiritual Gift Consultants
|
| |
| |
Trinity Presbyterian Church has trained Spiritual Gift Consultants to assist
those desiring to clarify their God-giftedness. This 50-minute consultation
attempts to discern and align an individual’s spiritual gifts with their
passions and personal style. Currently, there are five trained Spiritual Gift
Consultants who look forward to your call. |
