Church in the World

Church In The World

Trinity’s Church in the World Ministry helps identify possible avenues for service and support. We inform and recruit Trinity members and encourage their personal involvement and we decide how to direct the congregation’s financial support among many potential organizations and ministries.  We welcome all those interested in joining the committee to assist in this important mission. Please contact Suzanne Alfaro.

Trinity’s outreach ministries reach out to those in need, and use our congregation’s varied talents and resources to help our community.  We use our minds and voices to tutor students; we use our hands to crack eggs, assemble baloney sandwiches and hammer nails; we use our feet to walk for the homeless and hungry; we use our eyes to guide a paintbrush; we use our driving skills to deliver meals; and we use our money to send our hearts where we sometimes cannot go.

Trinity also supports development of new churches and ministries.  Trinity offers financial support and our facilities to develop new congregations, and Trinity partners with churches in other countries, exchanging ideas and resources, and enriching church communities immeasurably.

OPPORTUNITIES OUTSIDE OUR COMMUNITY

MISSION TRIPS
Offers Trinity members of all ages the chance to work together up to a week on a project assisting a community away from our area.  We conduct two trips every year.  Each year, middle schoolers travel to a domestic site. Intergenerational groups alternate domestic and international mission trips.

In 2005, close to 20 adults and youth spent a week working in West Virginia rebuilding homes damaged by recent floods. In 2004 a group traveled to the Pacific coast of Guatemala and helped a community in building a church, improving their irrigation system and teaching children.

Over the past decade, Trinity has provided hands-on help to people in locations as diverse as South Carolina, Jamaica, Mexico, Arizona, Vermont, Guatemala, Puerto Rico and West Virginia.  Trinity youth and adults have repaired homes, renovated churches, painted a seminary, built sidewalks and refurbished a drug rehab center.  They have also developed lasting bonds with those served as well as with each other.  Contact:Pam Michell or Matt Walker.
