Pastoral Care
Chair: Jeanine Parlett Littlehale
|
| |
The Pastoral Care Ministry team upholds the overall mission of Trinity by
|
| |
providing comfort, counsel, and nurture to members, by equipping large segments of the congregation for mutual ministries in bearing one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), thus enabling the pastor to shepherd the flock of God (1 Peter 5:2)
and by seeking to bring the Gospel to bear on the lives of individuals as they go through difficult or trying times. | |
| |
There are many ministries in which people with passion, giftedness, and interest can serve:
|
| |
Basket Ministry
|
| |
The basket team sends out cards to those that are ill or in need of cheer. Birthdays and anniversaries are remembered. Often, the flowers in the Sanctuary are delivered to a shut-in or someone in the hospital each Sunday afternoon after the final service.
|
| |
Shut – in project
|
| |
Four times a year we enlist the congregation to help make the shut-ins and bereaved members know we care.
For example, we make Valentines and help members connect through a phone call or some other nurture.
|
| |
Shut – in Communion
|
| |
Since we care very much for those who are homebound, a committee member accompanies the Pastor to give communion to those who
cannot attend church physically..
|
| |
College Ministry
|
| |
Plans and executes a Christmas dinner for college students in our congregation.
|
| |
Visitation
|
| |
Visits the sick and lonely at home or in the hospital.
|
| |
Memorial Receptions
|
| |
We organize memorial receptions for deceased members of our congregation.
|
| |
Helping Hands
|
| |
We nurture to the needs of the congregation with assistance, such as getting to and from appointments, grocery shopping, paying bills, and handy-man chores.
|
| |
Care Notes
|
| |
Care notes are booklets in the Narthex and available to the
congregation on many different subjects. This committee makes sure the rack is always stocked.
