ROBERT STOCKS:  Born and raised in Washington, D.C., Robert Stocks has been ministering through music in and around the metropolitan area for many years. His musical career began at the young age of 3 when he sang for his first audiences. From that time he has performed in may local and national talent competitions. As a praise and worship leader, Robert has directed and sung in a number of choirs and led many bands and groups alike.  It wasn’t until age 14 that he first picked up an alto saxophone and discovered his musical gift as an instrumentalist.

A graduate of Washington DC’s Duke Ellington School of the Performing Arts, Robert began the journey of mastering the saxophone under the tutelage of Dave Yarborough.

During his stay at Ellington, he changed his Major from Vocal Music to Instrumental Music and began to learn other instruments.  Since then, Robert has worked with such jazz veterans as Wynton Marsalis, Dr. Billy Taylor, Keeter Betts and Jimmy Heath.

With a foundation of experience and education Robert continuously looks forward to new musical endeavors and opportunities to share his gift with the world.
